How You Can Join the Warren County Astronomical Society

As a member of the Warren County Astronomical Society, you get after-hours access to Hisey Park and Gulley Park for astronomical activities. Both county parks are dark sky sites with unobstructed views of the full night sky. You also can get:

  • Training to use our large telescopes at the Fred Bay Observatory at Hisey Park near Waynesville, and the Rachel Hutzel Observatory at Camp Joy near Clarksville.
  • Access to the Fred Bay Observatory with your own key after you've completed the volunteer operator training.
  • Email invitations and alerts about our events for members and the public.

Residents of Warren County of all ages are invited to join. Our members range in experience from people just beginning to explore astronomy to very knowledgeable amateur astronomers who build their own telescopes and operate observatories in their backyards. All are welcome to learn and share what they know together.
